A Night to ‘Give A Damn’ - The BRIT School x DM Foundation

DSCF1336.jpgThe BRIT School’s rising talent took the stage - and took a stand – at the ‘Give A Damn’ show, a night of bold, uncompromising music that we’re proud to have backed for a second year.

From Lauryn Hill to Lady Gaga, the school’s Year 12 students curated and performed a setlist packed with tracks that have sparked conversations and fuelled movements over the years. But the real standouts of show were the original songs that were bought to the stage.

Covering gang violence, mental health, misogyny and more - the students crafted songs from scratch to confront the issues that mattered most to them. A testament to how tapping into their creative talents isn’t just a tool for self expression, but amplifying voices and igniting real change.

The Dr. Martens Foundation and The BRIT School’s partnership is powered by everyone who wears and works for DM’s. Together we’re breaking down barriers that block young people from using art to express themselves, take a stand and shape their career. The Give A Damn show is just one of the initiatives driving this forward.

Congratulations to all of the rising stars in The BRIT School’s Music and Film & Media Production teams for putting on a show that left a real mark.

While the original tracks from the night aren’t available to stream, we’ve pulled together a playlist of the rest the setlist – songs that have defied norms and can inspire you to do the same.
